This set of preferences allows you to define how the output is presented in grid view of the Report Output page. These preferences are as follows:

Note:    The following list includes all possible options, however, not all options may be enabled/visible in the application you are using.

Note:    Once you have defined your preferences, you must click the Apply button to save your changes and apply these to the application.

Description

Grid Style

This option allows you to specify the grid style applied to all reports. There are two options as follows:

Use the format stored in the report definition - allows the report to define the style.

Use my selected default grid style - allows you to specify the default grid style and disables any formatting options.

Default Grid Style

This option allows you to specify the default grid style to be applied when viewing reports in grid mode. When the Grid Style is set to "Use my selected default grid style", this grid layout may not be modified.

Maximum Rows in Grid

This option specifies the maximum number rows that are displayed at one time. If there are more rows to display, additional "pages" will be available (e.g., if you have specified a maximum number of rows of 20 and the output includes 100 rows, there will be 5 pages of row output). You can use the page navigation buttons to view additional pages.

Maximum Columns in Grid

This option specifies the maximum number of columns that are displayed at one time. If there are more columns to display, additional columns are available by using the left/right navigation buttons.

Show Attribute Form Names

This option specifies how attribute form names are handled. Attribute forms represent different methods of reference an attribute when working with outputs (e.g., the State attribute has an ID and Description). The form names refer to the text that is displayed on the column or row header when viewing output (e.g., for the State attribute, these would be State ID and State DESC). There are three options:

Yes - the attribute form name is included in the header information.

No - the attribute form name is not included in the header information (only the attribute name is displayed).

Read from Report - the attribute form display is determined by the report definitio.

Show Pivot Buttons

This option defines how pivot buttons appear when viewing output in a grid. When checked, the pivot buttons are automatically enabled. When not checked, pivot buttons are not automatically enabled. You may enable/disable the pivot buttons manually from the Pivot Buttons option in the Tools menu.

Show Sort Buttons

This option defines how sort buttons appear when viewing output in a grid. When checked, the sort buttons are automatically enabled. When not checked, sort buttons are not automatically enabled. You may enable/disable the sort buttons manually from the Pivot Buttons option in the Tools menu.

Show unused attributes in Page-By panel

This option determines if attributes that are included on the report but not added to the grid are included in the Page-By panel. When checked, report attributes not included on the grid are added to the Page-By panel. When checked, the attributes are included in the Page-By panel and will be applied to the view of the output. When not checked, the attributes are included in the output but will not appear on the grid or in the Page-By panel.

Display Empty Grid Axes in View Mode

This option defines how to display a grid axes that has no data. When checked, if a grid axes has no data to display the axes is still included on the grid display with the text "Drop objects here". When not checked, if a grid axes has no data to display, the axes is not included on the grid display.

Enable sorting by attribute forms that are not displayed on the grid

This option determines if attribute forms not currently enabled are available from the Sort Options window. If checked, all attribute forms are available for sort selection from the Sort Options dialog window. If not checked, only those attribute forms selected for display are included in the sort selections from the Sort Options dialog window.

Note:  These are only available from the Sort Options dialog and not available if sorting directly on the grid. Only those attributes included on the grid may be sorted directly from the grid.

Automatic Page-By

This option specifies if the grid is refreshed as you change the Page-By selections or you must click an Apply button. If checked, the grid is automatically refreshed as you change the Page-By selections. If not checked, you must click an Apply button to refresh the grid once you have changed the Page-By selections.

Use Images for depicting expand and contract in outline mode

This option specifies if the expand/contract icon buttons are included when you view output in Outline mode. When checked, the icon buttons are displayed to expand and contract the outline. If not checked, the icon buttons are not displayed and you must click the outline attribute to expand an contract the outline view.
